Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is expanding its Family Medicine faculty and is recruiting full-time physicians committed to academic medicine, resident education, and community health.
These roles offer a strong balance of clinical care, teaching, and academic growth within a school-of-medicine–supported residency program and affiliated FQHC.
Open Faculty Pathways
- Assistant Program Director / Director of Osteopathic Education – Faculty leadership role focused on curriculum development, osteopathic recognition, resident mentoring, and scholarship
- Family Medicine Faculty with Obstetrics – Full-spectrum Family Medicine with OB, inpatient care, and resident teaching

Key Responsibilities
- Outpatient and inpatient clinical care including OB when applicable
- Supervision and teaching of residents and learners
- Participation in educational, scholarly, and program initiatives
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
- Eligible for Illinois licensure
- Commitment to teaching and underserved populations
- OB skills for FM with OB role
- Osteopathic education experience for leadership role
