We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Oregon. This opportunity begins on Dec 8, 2025, and spans 120 days, featuring a rotating schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week between 9a and 7p across three clinics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in urgent care procedures and thrive in a fast-paced, community-based environment.

- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (9a to 7p), rotating among three clinics with alternating schedules
Responsibilities and Duties
- Evaluate and treat walk-in patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, infections, and urgent but non-emergent conditions
- Perform basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, and abscess management
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics including labs, X-rays, and EKGs
- Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff for escalations, transfers, or referrals as needed
- Educate patients and families on follow-up care, prevention, and appropriate use of urgent care versus emergency services
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and state regulations
Additional Information
- Previous urgent care, emergency, or high-volume primary care experience required
- Must be skilled in suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound management
- Experience managing diverse patient populations across all ages
- Ability to order and interpret labs, imaging, and EKGs independently
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Proficiency with Meditech EHR preferred
- Strong adaptability and communication skills
