Description

The Mount Carmel Health System, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a dedicated, Board-Certified Thoracic Surgeon to be the Medical Director of the General Thoracic Division due to unmet demand and growth located in Columbus, Ohio.

All aspects of general thoracic surgery are included, both benign and malignant, except for transplantation. This program encompasses three hospital campuses just outside the Columbus beltway. The thoracic surgery program is supported by a DaVinci Xi robot at all three campuses, 17 pulmonary/critical care physicians, and a well-established multi-disciplinary Thoracic Tumor Board.

The Mount Carmel cancer program diagnoses over 2,600 new cancer cases annually.

The ideal candidate will have the vision and excitement to grow the thoracic surgery volume and will have the opportunity to lead the General Thoracic Surgery group. We anticipate the recruitment of an additional surgeon once the program groundwork is established.

  • Call 1:4; Cardiac Surgeons will provide call support
  • Dedicated Advanced Practice Provider support
  • Oncology lung navigator, oncology nurse navigators, genetics counselors, oncology dietician and oncology social worker
  • Oncology Program Technology: Three Varian True beam accelerators, Cyberknife, IMRT, IGRT, SRS & SRBT, 3D Conformal, Respiratory gating, OSMS & high dose rate brachytherapy
  • Teaching opportunity with Mount Carmel General Surgery Residents
  • Accredited Network Cancer Program by the ACoS, Coc, NAPBC & ACR
